The city of El Paso has had a baseball team almost as long as its been on the map. basically it started in 1892 when the Browns were officially made. From there it grew and grew eventually until today's baseball team, the Diablos.
In 1913 the Browns became the El Paso Mavericks and played in Dudley Dome which, oddly, is made out of adobe.
Then in 1930 the team became the El Paso Texans and joined the Arizona League replacing the Mesa Jewels; business is business, poor Jewels.
In 1961 after a while without baseball at all some people got money and started another team called the Sun Kings. In my opinion they should've kept the name.
So in 1974 the Sun Kings were changed to the Diablos. With this came the ,"Jim Paul era", which was the climax of El Paso baseball. This is how it remains tot his day and ,honestly, I love going to see these games.
